7) CAA2007.

Ortwin Dally and Agnes Henning reported on the organisation of CAA 2007 in Berlin, Germany.

The conference is organised by the German Archaeological Institute (DAI), the Centre of the Ancient World (IZAW) Freie Universität Berlin, the Collection of Classical Antiquities Berlin (Pergamonmuseum) Staatliche Museen Preußischer Kulturbesitz and CAA Germany, under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Among the various sponsors is the Henry Ford foundation.

The Conference Organizing Committee for CAA 2007 invites you to participate in the Annual Conference of Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA).
It is the aim of the conference to bring together experts from various disciplines to discuss new developments in computer applications and quantitative methods in archaeology. These include methods and applications of 3D reconstructions, geographic information systems, web databases, photogrammetry, statistics, and many other subjects. With its interdisciplinary approach the conference will discover different layers of perception, and this is why "layers of perception" is the CAA 2007 conference theme.

The Berlin archaeological museums will be open on Monday 2nd April 2007 for participants of the conference.

8) CAA 2008.

There were three notifications of interest for CAA2008. Two of these were not in the form of a bid. These potential organisers need more time to consult their superiors.
Bernie Fischer from Charlottesville (USA) offered to organise a conference in either 2008 or 2009. The steering committee has a preference for a European venue in 2008 and one in the USA in 2009.

The steering committee asked the meeting to give them permission to negotiate with the potential organisers and promised to keep the membership informed.

The membership voted unanimously in favour of this proposal.

9) Publication of proceedings.

Some but little progress has been made on the new publication plan as drawn up by the subcommittee proceedings. A minor constitutional change is needed but has not been prepared yet.

Franco Niccolucci showed the cover of the CAA2004 proceedings, announced that the content will be more then 600 pages and promised that the book will go to the printer (Archeolingua) in May 2006. He made two recommendations for future organisers: reject papers in poor English and reject papers with mistakes in the layout of the bibliography.

Gonçalo Leite Velho promised that the CAA2005 proceedings would be available in September 2006 during the UISPP conference in Lisbon. He seconded Franco’s recommendations.

10) Any other business.

The chairman thanked the leaving secretary Hans Kamermans.
One member proposed to make him a lifetime member of CAA and the membership agreed.

Nick thanked Jeff and his team for dragging CAA out of Europe and organising an excellent conference.

Gail Higginbottom proposed that the editors of proceedings send papers back to the authors for proper formatting.

Tyler Back asked for feedback from the membership and proposed to appoint somebody as an intermediate between the membership and the steering committee.

The meeting closed at 17.00 p.m.
